Youth Gala 'Forever the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers'

On the evening of December 20, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Military Command jointly organized the Youth Gala program "Forever the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers" on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2019), 30th National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2019).

Attending the event were comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Commander of the Provincial Military Command; leaders of the Provincial Youth Union; and youth union members in the province.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong respectfully sent best wishes to the officers and soldiers who have been and are contributing and working in the People's Army of the province, and affirmed that the common development achievements of Nghe An have great contributions from officers, soldiers, and youth union members of the armed forces.

Through the Youth Union, many specific movements and activities have been launched such as: "All people participate in protecting national sovereignty, territorial security and borders"; Movement to build self-managed border roads and national landmarks; Activities of twinning villages, posts and border stations on both sides of the border; Visiting young people leaving for military service, introducing and supporting job counseling for young people who have completed military service and returned to their localities; "Warm Tet on the border"...

These activities have demonstrated the correctness of the political ideology of the Youth Union, effectively connecting the Youth Union members with the armed forces of the province. Since then, the youth generation of Nghe An in general has contributed to the socio-economic development of the province.

When asked about the most sparkling image, capturing the trust of the young generation, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong affirmed: The answer would be "Uncle Ho's Army". This is completely reasonable, because we all realize that the image of "Uncle Ho's Army" is associated with absolute loyalty to the Party, to the revolution, close ties with the people, bravery in all situations, or readiness to sacrifice blood and bones for the Fatherland. It is also the discipline - the strength of the Vietnamese Army; the intelligence and creativity to overcome all challenges. Moreover, the image of "Uncle Ho's Army" has gone beyond national borders, becoming the only military force in the world called "Buddhist army".

The gala night demonstrated the determination of Nghe An youth to follow the image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in Uncle Ho’s homeland. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong hopes that with their youth, creativity and enthusiasm, the province’s youth union will soon turn their dreams and ambitions into reality.

The gala included many performances with three main themes: Light of Faith; Marching under the military flag; Vietnamese Youth Marching. This was an opportunity to review and widely propagate to cadres, soldiers, youth union members and people about revolutionary heroism, the tradition of fighting to defend the country, the process of building, fighting and growing up of the Vietnam People's Army in general, and the armed forces of Nghe An province in particular; contributing to education, raising awareness, pride and honor to create the right motivation for cadres, union members and youth in the new era.

Also at the Gala, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the Contest to learn about the 30th anniversary of National Defense Day and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army launched by the Central Youth Union.

With more than 21,000 entries from union members and youth in the province. After 2 preliminary and final rounds, the Organizing Committee decided to award 3 collective prizes and 22 individual prizes, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 4 third prizes and 15 consolation prizes.
