(Baonghean.vn) - To welcome Christmas, the people of Thuong Nam Parish, Hong Long Commune (Nam Dan) designed a "giant" lantern. This is one of the unique works in Nghe An during the 2019 Christmas season.

After many days of staging and assembling, the people of Thuong Nam Parish have completed the "giant" lantern to welcome Christmas. The lantern is set up in front of the parish church.

The lamp is about 4m high, the circumference of the lamp base is about 9m. The lamp consists of 3 parts: base, body, top, made from materials: steel, fabric, canvas, cardboard. The lamp body consists of a lantern and a lamp wheel. The lantern has 8 sides creating a beautiful symmetrical shape. The top of the lamp is covered with canvas to protect from the rain.

The lamp reel is a cylinder about 1.8m high with a central axis connecting from the lamp base to the top of the lamp. On the reel are mounted a transmission part, motor, wire... to move the reel.

The center of the lantern is lit by three large light bulbs connected in the middle of the lantern.

Surrounding the lantern wheel is a set of parallel fishing lines. The lantern “armies” such as reindeer… are attached to the fishing lines, arranged in groups. When the lantern wheel rotates, these images will move on the lantern one by one.

In the dark, the lantern parade glows with eye-catching moving images, an impressive highlight in the landscape of Thuong Nam Parish Church.
