(Baonghean) - During its 17-year development journey, Cua Dong General Hospital has transformed strongly, increasingly affirming its pioneering position in professional development and application of advanced techniques. The hospital aims to perfect the model of a high-quality medical facility, becoming a prestigious medical examination and treatment address for people inside and outside the province to place their trust.

Making the most of new techniques

In the context of a system of strongly developing and diverse medical facilities, the number of patients visiting Cua Dong General Hospital every day is always over 1,000 people/day. The increase in patients every year, along with the decreasing rate of referrals, is proof of the quality of medical examination and treatment (KCB) and the increasing trust of people in the hospital. This achievement is thanks to the fact that in recent times, the Hospital has focused its efforts on developing technical expertise and receiving specialized technical transfer from central hospitals.

Many difficult cases have been successfully treated by the hospital. For example, patient Tran Thi L. (50 years old, from Ha Tinh province) has had symptoms of dull hip pain for the past 10 years, accompanied by painful urination and physical weakness. Ms. Tran Thi L. was examined by doctors specializing in the Department of Surgery - Cua Dong General Hospital, diagnosed with stones in the lower third of the right ureter and was prescribed laser lithotripsy of the lower third of the right ureter.

Laser lithotripsy is one of the advanced methods that the Hospital has applied for effective treatment in recent times; with many outstanding advantages such as: Can crush all types of stones, can crush large stones, does not cause damage to the ureter, shortens the procedure time, and recovers faster. With this treatment method, patient Tran Thi L. recovered quickly and returned to normal activities in the first days after surgery.

(46 years old, in Vinh City), was diagnosed with a hypogastric tumor. Doctors performed laparoscopic surgery to remove the appendix mucinous tumor and cecum. Mr. N said: "I visited and was consulted at many central and provincial hospitals, then decided to choose surgery at Cua Dong General Hospital, because I trust the quality of medical examination and treatment and medical services here. Currently, my health is stable, and my digestion is good."

In order to effectively implement advanced technical methods in treatment, the Hospital always focuses on improving the skills of doctors and nurses. At the same time, the Hospital is equipped with a system of 5 sterile operating rooms with one-way positive pressure with the ability to sterilize and filter modern air, provide clean air, along with the most advanced endoscopic surgical equipment and systems from reputable medical equipment manufacturers from the US, Germany, and Japan, ensuring that the surgical procedure is performed safely, quickly, and smoothly.

Continue to receive specialized technical transfer

As the first hospital in Nghe An to become a satellite hospital of Bach Mai Hospital, the medical staff of Cua Dong General Hospital has always improved their professional qualifications and skills through training sessions and technical transfer according to the project. From 2017 to present, Bach Mai Hospital has trained and transferred specialized techniques in specialties such as: Emergency resuscitation, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Musculoskeletal, Respiratory...; along with many different programs such as: Continuous training, mentoring training, "hand-holding", sending staff to train at Bach Mai Hospital... Thanks to that, specialized techniques have been effectively deployed at Cua Dong General Hospital, creating conditions for patients to enjoy new techniques and advanced equipment right in their home province.

In the coming time, the Hospital will continue to invest in facilities and equipment to deploy transferred techniques in a sustainable manner, and at the same time invite leading experts in various fields to transfer central-level techniques at the Hospital; thereby, contributing to improving the quality of medical services in Nghe An province and the region”.
