Head of Central Propaganda Department: Urgently and strictly implement press planning

On the morning of December 28, in Hai Phong City, the Central Propaganda Department chaired and coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize a national press conference to summarize the work of 2019 and deploy tasks for 2020.

Attending the conference were comrade Vo Van Thuong - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department and comrades: Vu Duc Dam - Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister; Thuan Huu - Party Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; and more than 600 delegates representing leaders of many agencies of the Party, State, press management and direction agencies, governing agencies and press agencies.

The value of Vietnamese journalism is orthodox, revolutionary journalism.

Attending the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam delivered a speech sharing some of the outstanding and clear results of our country in 2019 in terms of socio-economics, in which the particularly encouraging thing is the increased trust, excitement, and pride of the Vietnamese people. To achieve these results, the role of the press is truly not only the voice of the Party and State, but also the voice of the people.

“The contributions of press agencies are always important, but this year they are especially important. The Government and the Prime Minister commend and thank the extremely valuable contributions of press agencies nationwide,” - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam conveyed the Prime Minister's message to the conference.

Comrade Vu Duc Dam said that the Government shares the challenges that the press is facing such as: providing official and oriented information but also ensuring speed and meeting the demands of the people; many press agencies are partly and completely responsible for their operating costs; the rearrangement is in accordance with regulations, in the direction of streamlining the focal points but the requirements are to be stronger, information is spread, but the orientation and officiality do not decrease but require higher requirements.

Therefore, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Government will continue to take concrete actions to promote and further promote the role of the press; press management agencies, mostly government agencies, will pay attention not only to leadership and time but also to resources for the press.

The Government also determined that the best thing for the press to develop is for agencies to be exemplary in providing accurate and timely information to press agencies, creating favorable conditions for reporters and journalists to operate.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed the role of the press in continuing to promote faster and more stable economic and social development; maintaining national sovereignty; and in the fight against negativity, corruption, bureaucracy, and in the work of building the Party and government apparatus, as well as orienting and gathering the aspirations of the Vietnamese people...

“No one, no organization, not even any nation can protect their own interests by giving up their own values. The value of the Vietnamese press is orthodox, revolutionary press,” the Deputy Prime Minister said at the end of his speech.

Strengthening the lines of protecting the Party's ideological foundation

Concluding the conference, comrade Vo Van Thuong - Head of the Central Propaganda Department assessed that 2019 was a year with many events, but with a proactive spirit, the contents were fully and comprehensively reported in the press; press planning work was strengthened, ensuring quality, substance, not formality; State management work and association work were innovated.

Năm 2020 là năm có nhiều sự kiện quan trọng của đất nước, bối cảnh đặt ra nhiều thời cơ, thuận lợi song cũng đặt ra không ít khó khăn, thách thức với quy mô, tính chất ngày càng cao, đòi hỏi những người làm báo tiếp tục nâng cao bản lĩnh chính trị, ý thức trách nhiệm công dân và sứ mệnh người làm báo để góp phần xây dựng tinh thần đoàn kết, tạo sự đồng thuận trong xã hội, củng cố niềm tin của nhân dân vào sự lãnh đạo của Đảng và sự phát triển của đất nước.

Do đó, đồng chí Võ Văn Thưởng nhấn mạnh: Kiên trì thực hiện chỉ đạo, định hướng thông tin theo phương châm chủ động, kịp thời, hiệu quả, giữ vững kỷ luật, kỷ cương trong chấp hành chỉ đạo, đúng hướng các vấn đề phức tạp, quan trọng, nhạy cảm; bảo đảm thực hiện nghiêm nguyên tắc một đầu mối trong chỉ đạo định hướng thông tin.

Đẩy mạnh thông tin tuyên truyền các sự kiện lớn, vấn đề quan trọng của đất nước, nêu bật được những thành quả về chính trị, kinh tế, văn hóa - xã hội, quốc phòng, an ninh, đối ngoại, xây dựng, chỉnh đốn Đảng trong nhiệm kỳ đại hội XII của Đảng, xây dựng môi trường thông tin lành mạnh, tiến bộ với dòng chủ lưu là thông tin tích cực góp phần tạo không khí tin cậy, phấn khởi, nỗ lực hoàn thành tốt nghị quyết đại hội Đảng bộ các cấp nhiệm kỳ này và tổ chức thành công đại hội Đảng các cấp nhiệm kỳ mới; tăng cường các tuyến bài bảo vệ nền tảng tư tưởng của Đảng; đấu tranh phản bác các quan điểm sai trái, thù địch một cách sắc sảo, thuyết phục;…

Nâng cao năng lực, hiệu quả quản lý Nhà nước đối với báo chí; khẩn trương thực hiện nghiêm quy hoạch báo chí đến năm 2025; tích cực rà soát, sửa đổi, bổ sung các văn bản quy phạm pháp luật về báo chí không còn phù hợp với thực tiễn, đặc biệt xây dựng quy định phân biệt báo điện tử, tạp chí điện tử để khắc phục tình trạng báo hóa tạp chí;…

Tăng cường công tác xây dựng Đảng trong các cơ quan báo chí; nhận diện đánh giá đúng và có biện pháp khắc phục các biểu hiện tư nhân hóa báo chí; nâng cao chất lượng, hiệu quả hoạt động Hội Nhà báo Việt Nam và các cấp hội; tăng cường cung cấp thông tin của các cơ quan Đảng, Nhà nước và trách nhiệm giải trình của các cơ quan báo chí…

Tại hội nghị, Ban Tuyên giáo Trung ương đã tặng Bằng khen cho các cơ quan, đơn vị có thành tích xuất sắc trong công tác báo chí năm 2019.

Cả nước giảm 18 cơ quan báo chí so với năm 2018
