Breaking up a lottery ring of six women
Tran Thi Lien (44 years old) and 5 other women organized a lottery network in Ha Tinh city, with a transaction amount of more than 200 million VND per day.
On January 1, Ms. Lien (residing in Thach Ha district), Ngo Thi Thu Quynh (39 years old), Tran Thi Hai (62 years old), Tran Thi Huong (53 years old), Tran Thi Kim Hoa (33 years old), Tran Thi Lien (50 years old, all residing in Ha Tinh city) were detained by Ha Tinh city police for investigation of the crime.GambleandGambling organization, according to Articles 321 and 322 of the 2015 Penal Code.

According to the investigation, Ms. Lien opened a cafe disguised as a lottery business in Nguyen Du ward in mid-2019, with security cameras installed around the shop. Ms. Quynh, Hai, Hoa, Lien and Huong are second and third level agents, responsible for transferring the lottery records to the first level agent for Lien to summarize and pay.
On the evening of December 28, 2019, Ha Tinh City Police mobilized dozens of officers divided into many working groups to simultaneously inspect 6 lottery recording points owned by Lien and his henchmen, arrested 6 people, seized hundreds of millions of dong and many related documents.
According to the police, Lien instructed her subordinates to text message customers on all transactions, so it was very difficult to detect. Every day, the amount of money circulating was more than 200 million VND. To destroy this network, detectives had to monitor this line for many months.
