SLNA: Midfielder Thai Bao Trung misses his appointment once again

(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An team has announced the list of young players added to the first team to prepare for the 2020 season. Unfortunately, there is no appearance of Thai Bao Trung, the player once known as a copy of Phan Van Duc.

The midfielder from Thanh Chuong shared: “Honestly, I am not surprised by this result, because in the past time, I have not shown much. However, I still feel unhappy because my dream of wearing the SLNA shirt to compete in the V.League and National Cup arena has not come true.”

This is the second time in a row that Thai Bao Trung has been removed from the list of players promoted to SLNA’s first team before the new season. Last year, the player born in 2000 also had to “pack his bags” and return to the youth team, because he was not in the plans of coach Nguyen Duc Thang.

Talking about his upcoming plans, Thai Bao Trung revealed: “In the near future, I will wait for invitations from teams in the First Division. If I am able to join a team, I will try my best to help the team achieve more success. In my opinion, no matter where I play football, I have to try my best.”

In the second leg of the 2019 National Second Division, the player nicknamed Trung “ruoi” played for Ba Ria-Vung Tau Club, on loan. Although coach Tran Minh Chien only regularly sent him on the field from the bench, Thai Bao Trung still left a special mark (contributing 3 assists).

After returning from Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club, the 20-year-old midfielder was again in the SLNA U21 squad participating in the 2019 National U21 qualifying round held at Viettel Sports Center. The goal against the home team U21 Viettel in the third match was Thai Bao Trung's most memorable move in that tournament.

Objectively speaking, the midfielder born in 2000 is a player who plays with a technical bent. With his “very obedient and very strange” left foot, Thai Bao Trung easily overcame the opposing team’s players with just one delicate “needle-threading” move. Not many players who grew up in the SLNA academy have a “delicate”, “fragile”, “artistic” playing style like Trung “fly”.

However, that is not enough for Thai Bao Trung to be able to compete in a fierce arena like V.League. Poor physical strength makes the player from Thanh Chuong always lose in one-on-one situations with opponents. That is one of the reasons why Thai Bao Trung has not been given a chance by the SLNA coaching board in the 2020 season.
