Nghe An province helps nearly 290,000 women members access loans.
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2019, women's associations at all levels helped 289,701 women's households access unsecured loans totaling over 3,562 billion VND for economic development; and supported 343 women's startup ideas.
On the morning of January 10th, the Provincial Women's Union held a conference to summarize its work in 2019 and plan for 2020.
Attending the conference were Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union; and representatives of leaders from various departments, agencies, and localities in the province.
According to the report of the Provincial Women's Union: In 2019, the Women's Union at all levels closely followed the action program to implement the Resolution of the Women's Congress at all levels and the local political tasks to comprehensively organize and implement the set targets and tasks; selecting priority issues to focus resources on implementing them effectively and efficiently.

During the year, women's associations at all levels also effectively implemented activities to support women's access to safe credit, helping 289,701 households obtain unsecured loans from banks with a total capital of over 3,562 billion VND; and mobilized and supported 343 women's startup ideas.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing the difficulties and limitations of women's association work and movements in 2019: The rate of membership recruitment in some specific areas remained low; issues such as child marriage, human trafficking, safe migration, illegal lending, child abuse, and drug use in schools were complex and not promptly addressed or effectively resolved; and some local associations were still struggling to implement support for women's entrepreneurship.

On this occasion, the Provincial Women's Union organized a ceremony to receive Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the Vietnam Women's Union, and the Emulation Flag from the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee awarded to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements; and presented Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Women's Union to exemplary women's union branches at all levels.
