Warm 'Warm Border Tet' in Que Phong

(Baonghean.vn) - With the spirit of "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind", Nghe An Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Provincial Border Guard Command and accompanying units to present many meaningful gifts, bringing "Warm Border Tet 2020" to people and students in Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district (Nghe An) on January 14.

The program is implemented according to the Appeal Letter "Tet for the poor" of the Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee and responds to the campaign "Sentiment of border and island" in the period of 2018 - 2022 of the Central Youth Union to promptly support and help poor people and students in mountainous areas in terms of material and spiritual matters to have a warm and happy Tet.

Thong Thu, Que Phong district is a border commune with 13 villages with 1,081 households, 4,563 people including 3 ethnic groups Kinh, Thai, Tho, of which 99% are Thai people, the people are mainly agricultural producers.

At the program, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Border Guard Command presented more than 300 warm coats to students of Thong Thu Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - Secondary School; 20 scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties; 1 children's playground and "warm winter" gifts to 20 disadvantaged households in the commune.

In order to improve the quality of domestic water for disadvantaged areas, especially to improve the lives of people and students in mountainous areas, the Delegation donated and installed 5 water purifiers at Thong Thu Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - Secondary School, Thong Thu 1 Primary School, Thong Thu 2 Primary School and Thong Thu Kindergarten.

Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Thi Thom shared: “The Warm Border Tet program is annually organized by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, aiming to promote the volunteer role of young people, taking care of policy families, youth and teenagers in border areas on the occasion of Tet and Spring…”.
