British Deputy Foreign Minister attends the Signing Ceremony of Training Cooperation at Vinh University
(Baonghean.vn) - The British diplomat shared that during her first visit to Nghe An, one of her goals was to strengthen cooperation in the field of education and training.
On the afternoon of January 16, continuing the visit and working program in Nghe An, the delegation led by Ms. Heather Wheeler - Member of Parliament, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom attended and witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation between Vinh University and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of Nghe An province, there was comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the British Deputy Foreign Minister said that one of the reasons that prompted her to make her first visit to Nghe An on this occasion was the importance of the education and training sector.
Nghe An is a land with a tradition of studiousness and good learning, while education and training is also a field in which the UK has potential, strengths and experience to further support Vietnam in general and Nghe An in particular, especially in the context of the current 4.0 industrial revolution.
“I am very happy and proud to come here to witness the signing of the cooperation agreement between ICAEW and Vinh University,” she said, affirming that ICAEW is a professional and prestigious accounting organization in the world, providing internationally recognized certificates in the fields of finance and accounting. She hopes that during the cooperation implementation process, many certificates will be granted to students in Nghe An.
The head of the UK delegation also hopes that the cooperation between the UK and Vietnam will increasingly develop strongly, going into practical depth and effectiveness.

Also as part of the working program in Nghe An province, Ms. Wheeler and members of the delegation attended the Training Conference on preventing and combating human trafficking organized by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in Vinh City and visited the Sunflower House in Hung Loc Commune, Vinh City.

In 2016, the UK Foreign Office sponsored about 5 billion VND to Nghe An province to implement the "Sunflower House" project - a shelter for women and children who are victims of human trafficking. However, this facility has not been put into effective use due to lack of equipment.
