On January 24 (ie 30th of Tet), traffic police in 43 localities handled 320 cases of alcohol concentration violations.

Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security informs about traffic safety and order situation on 30th of Lunar New Year Canh Ty 2020.

Accordingly, this morning, there were 26 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 17 people and injuring 19. Of these, 26 were road traffic accidents, and no particularly serious accidents occurred.

Compared to the same period last year: 11 fewer cases (30%); 7 fewer deaths (29%); 8 fewer injuries (29%).

Implementing the peak of the Traffic Police Department on ensuring traffic safety and social order on traffic routes during the Lunar New Year and spring festivals in 2020, the Traffic Police force nationwide has made efforts to ensure traffic safety.

On January 24, the national traffic police force inspected and recorded 3,352 cases of traffic safety violations. 527 driving licenses were revoked, 27 cars and 515 motorbikes of all types were temporarily seized, and over 3 billion VND were fined. 327 cases of waterway traffic safety violations were inspected and handled, with fines of over 300 million VND. In particular, 43 localities reported handling 320 cases of alcohol concentration violations.

Previously, the Traffic Police Department requested the leaders of the Traffic Police Departments of Public Security units and localities to continue to focus on directing with the highest spirit; Provincial and district-level Traffic Police ensure maximum force and means to implement, advise the Director of Provincial and City Public Security to mobilize the Mobile Police, Order Police, Grassroots Police... to regularly and continuously control and handle cases of alcohol concentration violations on traffic routes for car and motorbike drivers, even during Tet holidays, not to let control and handling be slowed down.
