During Tet 2020, Thuy Tien returned to Kien Giang to visit her mother and took the opportunity to film and introduce the house she bought for her mother at the age of 26.
Thuy Tien said that when she was young, her family was very poor. She and her mother always wished to live in a small house at the end of the alley, even though it was only 10 square meters.
"I made a wish and cried. Every afternoon, I passed by that house just to look at it, but I couldn't afford to buy it because at that time, my mother and I were in a difficult situation, and my father had just passed away. So, after I started working and had money, the first thing I did was buy my mother a house. I wanted her to have her first house of her own in her life," the singer said.

In 2011, Thuy Tien saved up about 5 billion VND. She used that money to buy a house for her mother in Kien Giang even though she was still renting.
At the entrance, Thuy Tien introduced her 30-year-old Dream motorbike that she used to bring to Ho Chi Minh City to go to school and to... collect savings. The singer said that an aunt bought the motorbike for her because she saw that her mother and she did not have a means of transportation. Later, when Thuy Tien became well-off, she did not let her mother collect savings anymore because she was often robbed.

The house has 4 floors, area of 200m2, spacious and bright. The front of the house is Vinh Bao market (Rach Gia, Kien Giang) right next to the river, the back of the house is the sea. There are about 8 rooms in the house including 3 large common rooms, many of which Thuy Tien does not know who lives in or what they are used for. The interior is new and beautiful, fully equipped. Throughout the house are pots of apricot blossoms, marigolds... for Tet.
In the kitchen, the women in Thuy Tien's extended family are preparing cakes and jams, especially bags of peanut candy typical of the Western region. Thuy Tien did not forget to introduce the vegetarian "bitter melon stuffed with meat" pot, the vegetarian pork steamer because the singer's mother, aunt, and uncle are all vegetarians; her mother has been a vegetarian since she was 14 years old, nearly 50 years now.

The largest room on the first floor is used for worship. The altar of Thuy Tien's late father, grandparents, paintings, Buddha statues... are arranged on each step, always filled with smoke. Next to it is a hundred-year-old set of mother-of-pearl inlaid wooden tables and chairs with apricot blossom motifs left by her great-grandparents. Someone once offered to buy this set of tables and chairs for 300-400 million VND, but Thuy Tien's mother refused to sell.
On the second floor yard, Thuy Tien seemed to enjoy the baskets of dried pickled cabbage being dried - a Chinese specialty, often eaten with white porridge.
