Nghe An: 49 cases of alcohol concentration violations were punished during 5 days of Tet holiday
(Baonghean.vn) - From January 23 to 27 (ie from the 29th to the 3rd day of Tet), the traffic police force in Nghe An province penalized 49 cases of alcohol concentration violations, including 4 cars and 45 motorbikes.
Specifically, the violations: Not exceeding 0.25 milligrams/1 liter of breath were 4 car drivers, 22 motorbike drivers; Exceeding 0.25 milligrams to 0.4 milligrams/1 liter of breath were 13 motorbike drivers; Exceeding 0.4 milligrams/1 liter of breath were 10 motorbike drivers.
The total fine for alcohol violations during the first 5 days of Tet holiday is 212,000,000 VND.

According to statistics from the Traffic Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police, after 27 days of handling violations of alcohol concentration according to Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP in the province, the Traffic Police force has penalized 274 cases, including 43 cars and 231 motorbikes.
Of which, 31 car drivers and 167 motorbike drivers had blood pressure not exceeding 0.25 milligrams/1 liter of breath; 6 car drivers and 32 motorbike drivers had blood pressure exceeding 0.25 to 0.4 milligrams/1 liter of breath; 5 car drivers and 29 motorbike drivers had blood pressure exceeding 0.4 milligrams/1 liter of breath; 1 car driver and 3 motorbike drivers did not comply with the request to check alcohol concentration. The total fine for alcohol concentration violations is 1,300,000,000 VND.
Thus, as of January 27, in Nghe An province, there have been no cases of bicycles or rudimentary vehicles being fined for violating alcohol concentration.
The leader of the Provincial Traffic Police Department said that in addition to ensuring traffic order and safety, regulating traffic so that people can travel safely and enjoy the Spring Festival, the patrolling, controlling and handling of violations, especially alcohol concentration violations, is carried out very seriously and continuously by the Traffic Police of units and localities throughout the province on all traffic routes, for all types of vehicles.

In cases where traffic participants run away, intentionally do not comply with requests or have acts of resistance to traffic police when being tested for alcohol concentration, they will be punished at the highest level for this behavior.

Accordingly, the Traffic Police force will persistently implement the Law on Prevention of Harmful Effects of Alcohol and Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, with the goal of reducing traffic accidents in 2020 as well as in the long term, thereby forming a habit for people "If you drink alcohol, do not drive", to ensure safety for yourself as well as other traffic participants.
