(Baonghean.vn) - Visiting and wishing a Happy New Year, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Thai Thanh Quy acknowledged and thanked the active contributions and solidarity of the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Office, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province, dignitaries, officials and Catholics and Buddhists of the province for the province's development.

On the morning of January 29 (the 5th day of Tet), the provincial working delegation led by comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and extended New Year greetings to the Vinh Diocese Bishopric and the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province.

Accompanying her were comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, Provincial Party Committee Office, Provincial Police, Provincial People's Committee Office and Provincial Religious Affairs Committee.

Visiting and wishing a Happy New Year to the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Palace and the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy discussed some of the province's outstanding socio-economic results in 2019.

To achieve that result, in addition to the joint efforts of the entire political system, the entire Party and the entire people, comrade Thai Thanh Quy acknowledged and thanked the active contributions and joint efforts of the Vinh Diocese Bishopric, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, dignitaries, officials and Catholics and Buddhists of the province.

2020 has many important events for the whole country as well as for Nghe An province, and is also the year of Party congresses at all levels leading up to the 13th National Congress of the Party. The Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: Nghe An is determined to fulfill the targets and tasks of 2020 to create a solid foundation for the new term 2020 - 2025.

At the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Palace, on behalf of the provincial leaders, he sent greetings to Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, dignitaries, officials and Catholics in the province for a new year of peace, happiness, health and full of God's grace. Comrade Thai Thanh Quy hopes that in 2020, the Bishop's Palace will continue to coordinate and guide Catholics to fulfill their civic duties, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, economic development, humanitarian and charitable activities to contribute to the overall development of the province.

In addition, the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hoped that the Vinh Diocese, dignitaries and officials would continue to closely coordinate with the government to jointly solve problems in the area with the goal of bringing prosperity, happiness, and improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people, including Catholics.

The provincial government is committed to fulfilling common tasks, developing Nghe An province, bringing a peaceful life to the people; proactively and actively coordinating with the Vinh Diocese Bishopric and dignitaries and officials to resolve religious issues.

Bishop of Vinh Diocese Alphong Nguyen Huu Long thanked the Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of provincial departments and branches for their kindness and attention to the Catholic Church in general, Vinh Diocese, as well as the Vinh Diocese Bishop's House in particular and to the parishioners.

Expressing his joy at having made a small contribution to the construction of Nghe An province, the Bishop of Vinh Diocese affirmed that Catholics, in addition to caring for their faith, are also citizens who will continue to join hands in building their Fatherland and country.

At Dai Tue Pagoda, Nam Dan District, on behalf of the provincial leaders, the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sent New Year greetings to Most Venerable Elder Thich Thanh Dam - Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Central Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An Province, the Most Venerable Monks, Most Venerables, monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the area.

Highly appreciating the effective contributions and participation of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province, he hoped that the Executive Committee would continue to lead and direct religious activities and Buddhist activities in accordance with the policies and laws of the Party and State, in accordance with the direction of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha: "Religion, Nation and Socialism"; closely and actively coordinate with authorities at all levels to properly handle issues related to religious activities.

The province also hopes that the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province will guide and educate monks, nuns, and Buddhists about their duties as citizens; actively build the economy, build cultural life, build new rural areas, build the great national unity bloc to join the people of the whole province in building Nghe An homeland to become more and more prosperous. The province will continue to stand side by side and always listen and coordinate to properly resolve issues related to Buddhist activities.
