Chairing an urgent meeting of the Ministry of Health on the response to the acute pneumonia epidemic caused by the new coronavirus (nCoV) on the afternoon of the second day of Tet, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam requested ministries and branches to coordinate closely to respond to the coronavirus, in which the Ministry of Public Security will strictly handle those who spread false rumors.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam commented,Vietnam is close to China so it must always be in a positive mindset of epidemic prevention. Currently, nVietnam's response measures are higher than the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and countries with many Chinese people coming and going.

Vietnam requires mandatory health declarations. Countries that welcome more Chinese tourists than Vietnam, such as Japan, South Korea, and Thailand, have not yet applied this.

Tourists pass through the border gates of Lang Son and Cao Bang in the first days of the new year.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the health sector has a core role in providing professional guidance, but there must still be synchronous participation from all sectors and levels. Accordingly,The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) plays an important role right after the Ministry of Health, because of the number of hundreds of thousands of tourists coming to Vietnam every day, many of whom have traveled through China and have had contact with Chinese people.

"The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to strictly implement instructions, especially for epidemic areas in China, not to bring tourists to and in other tourist areas, it must advise all Vietnamese citizens to minimize going to places where infected people have been detected. At the same time, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism closely coordinates with the health sector in monitoring, managing and caring for tourists when they have suspected symptoms. The most important step is to closely monitor and manage..." - the Deputy Prime Minister directed.

For the Public Security and Military sectors, we also disseminate information to the entire sector and coordinate with the health sector to strictly implement surveillance right from the beginning at border gates. In particular, closely coordinate and share information about passengers upon entry. And closely monitor when tourists have entered the country, when they register to stay, especially with individual travelers. If this passenger's itinerary has contact with the risk of infection, we must closely monitor.

"The Ministry of Public Security must also monitor and be on guard against any individuals spreading false information about the epidemic situation and must stop it immediately. This is an act that causes panic and harm and must be strictly punished," Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam especially noted.

In addition, the Ministry of National Defense needs to be ready for combat, the Ministry of Transport needs to properly implement recommendations on flights in the spirit of implementing international practices from the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Ministry of Finance has also received instructions in the strategy for disease prevention and control.

Special,The Ministry of Education and Training noted that Vietnam has many students in China, so it must guide them on measures to protect their health and prevent epidemics.

Authorities at all levels, especially in provinces that welcome many tourists, must pay attention and direct forces in the spirit of not being subjective or negligent when the epidemic is constantly changing every day.
