On January 28 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), there were 36 road traffic accidents nationwide, killing 20 people; injuring 42 people. Compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year 2019, there was a decrease of 1 accident, 3 fewer deaths, and an increase of 3 more injuries.

The Highway Traffic Police Teams under the Traffic Police Department checked the alcohol levels of 117 violating vehicles. Through the monitoring system, 2 cases of cars exceeding the speed limit were recorded and fined 1.8 million VND on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway.
