Fined 150 million VND for building a pig farm without ensuring the environment

(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (residing in Dinh Son commune, Anh Son district) was fined 150 million VND for building a concentrated pig farm without an approved environmental impact assessment report.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh has just signed a decision to administratively fine Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (born in 1972, residing in village 5, Dinh Son commune, Anh Son district) 150 million VND.

Previously, the Department of Environmental Protection - Department of Natural Resources and Environment inspected the project to build a concentrated pig farm of Mr. Nam's family and discovered that the project did not have an environmental impact assessment report as prescribed.

This act violated regulations on environmental protection in production and business activities with a scale and capacity equivalent to cases requiring an approved environmental impact assessment report as prescribed.

The file was then sent by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision on a fine according to its authority. In addition to the fine of 150 million VND, Mr. Nam's family's concentrated pig farm was also suspended for 6 months.
