Nghe An launches Tet tree planting campaign 'Forever grateful to Uncle Ho' Spring Canh Ty
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 30, the 6th day of Tet, in Cua Lo town, Nghe An province, the launching ceremony of the Tet tree planting festival "Forever grateful to Uncle Ho" Spring Canh Ty 2020 was held.
The launching ceremony was attended by comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Also attending were comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of provincial departments, agencies and all walks of life of Cua Lo town.

This Spring Canh Ty 2020, the launching ceremony was held in Cua Lo Town, the location of the trees planted on the sidewalk of the intersection between Binh Minh Street and Vinh - Cua Lo Street in Nghi Huong Ward, Cua Lo Town.
Within the framework of the launching ceremony, 60 new trees were planted of 3 types: Giáng Hương, Hoàng Yến and Sau.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, on behalf of the provincial leaders, re-read Uncle Ho's Call for Tree Planting Festival 60 years ago, right in the Spring of Canh Ty 1960; emphasizing the significance of Tree Planting Festival for environmental protection, natural disaster prevention, storms and floods as well as economic development.

In Nghe An, remembering Uncle Ho's call, every year, the province launches a Tree Planting Festival, through which hundreds of thousands of new trees are planted each year. In densely populated areas and urban areas, green tree systems are gradually planned, increasing the forest coverage rate to 58%; forestry has become a strong economic sector of the province.
Practically studying Uncle Ho's call for tree planting during Tet, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that in the coming time, local authorities need to widely propagate the meaning of Tet tree planting and forest protection among the people; organize economical and effective tree planting, suitable to local conditions, each tree planted, each tree will live; increase the application of science, technology and technology in tree planting and afforestation; disseminate the Forestry Law among the people, link afforestation with forest protection and fire prevention; bring the movement "every household plants trees, every person plants trees" into depth and sustainability...

At the ceremony, comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee also emphasized the meaning of the Tree Planting Festival "Forever grateful to Uncle Ho", accordingly, the entire people and armed forces need to make the tree planting movement more practical, effective and of higher quality.
The representative of the People's Committee of Cua Lo town also read the promise to effectively and seriously implement the Tree Planting Festival following Uncle Ho's call; at the same time, directing 7/7 wards and communes to simultaneously launch, striving to plant over 3,000 new trees on the streets each year, gradually forming a green and civilized urban area...
