Refuting information about Corona pneumonia outbreak in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The leader of Nghe An Department of Health denied information on social networks that a person infected with Corona pneumonia had been discovered in Nghe An.
On the morning of January 30, speaking with reporters from Nghe An Newspaper, the leader of Nghe An Department of Health said that the prevention of pneumonia caused by the new strain of Corona virus is being well controlled by Nghe An. He also denied information on social networks that a patient infected with this disease had been discovered at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Director of the Center for Disease Control of Nghe An province said that in the past few days, there was only one case of a young man from Da Nang returning to his hometown Yen Thanh for Tet, showing signs of fever so he was taken from Yen Thanh to Nghe An General Hospital for isolation. However, doctors later determined that this person only had dengue fever, not related to the acute respiratory infection caused by the new strain of corona virus.
Previously, on January 29, Mr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of Nghe An Department of Health continued to send an official dispatch to public and non-public medical facilities in the area. In which, he requested the Provincial Center for Disease Control to advise on developing a Plan to respond to the epidemic situation caused by the new strain of nCoV virus, report to the Department of Health to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval.before 31/01/2020; Support medical facilities and related units to immediately deploy scenario 1 (According to the instructions in Decision No. 181/QD-BYT dated January 21, 2020 of the Ministry of Health). Continue to implement response readiness plans when necessary. Direct strict implementation of disinfection and detoxification at border gates (air, road, waterway).

The Medical Centers of districts, towns and Vinh city develop a Plan to respond to the epidemic situation caused by the new strain of nCoV virus. Strictly monitor, promptly detect suspected cases of infection, thoroughly isolate, and monitor cases that have come into contact with suspected infected people. Districts with border gates (air, road, waterway) strengthen close monitoring of incoming passengers for cases traveling from epidemic areas.
Provincial and district medical examination and treatment facilities are responsible for being ready to receive patients when requested, implementing treatment procedures and regimens according to the Ministry of Health's instructions, minimizing deaths. Develop plans to manage cases, prevent and control infections at medical facilities, and prevent cases of patients and medical staff being infected with this disease.
Currently, in Nghe An province, each district, city and town has established a rapid response team to deal with this epidemic. Meanwhile, at the provincial level, there are also 4 rapid response teams established. One team is located in the northern Nghe An area, one team is in charge of Highway 48, one team is located on Highway 7 and one team is stationed in Vinh City.
In addition, there are 3 other mobile teams on duty at Nam Can Border Gate, Vinh Airport and Vissai Seaport.
As of January 29, Vietnam has 64 suspected cases of nCoV virus infection with signs of fever and cough, coming from epidemic areas, of which 39 people are being quarantined. In addition, 56 other cases are in normal health, without signs of fever or cough but are still being monitored due to close contact with people suspected of being infected with nCoV virus.
The two cases of pneumonia recorded in Vietnam so far are a Chinese father and son, Mr. Li Ding, born in 1954, and his son Li Zichao, born in 1992, who are being treated at Cho Ray Hospital. Both have now had no fever and are eating normally. The son has tested completely negative and may soon be discharged from the hospital.

The Ministry of Health requested 11 provinces and cities to strengthen close monitoring of patients in quarantine, coordinate investigation, and handle outbreaks if new cases are detected, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Lai Chau, Kien Giang. The Ministry also announced the hotline number 19003228 to provide information on acute respiratory infections caused by the nCoV virus.
On January 28, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested localities to prevent the spread of the epidemic and consider epidemic prevention as "fighting the enemy". All levels, sectors, organizations and individuals must strictly implement the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens, the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, and the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases. Importing wild animals into Vietnam is prohibited. In China, as of January 29, the death toll from the acute pneumonia epidemic has increased to 170 and the number of infected cases is 7,711.
