Female patient in Nghe An suspected of being infected with Corona virus has no fever

(Baonghean.vn) - As of the afternoon of January 31, the female patient being isolated and treated for suspected Corona flu symptoms in Nghe An has no longer had a fever and all of her symptoms have decreased.

The patient being isolated, monitored and treated at the Provincial General Hospital is HTT (42 years old, living in Kim Khe village, Chau Kim commune, Que Phong district). This patient has no husband or children, and is a freelance worker working in Guangdong province, China.

During the journey from China to Que Phong district and from Que Phong district to the Provincial General Hospital, the patient said he had close contact with many people.

On January 18, 2020, patient HTT left China by car from this country. In the afternoon of the same day, the patient arrived at Mong Cai Border Gate, Quang Ninh Province. On January 19, the patient took a North-South bus to Yen Ly Junction, Dien Chau District, Nghe An Province, then took another bus to Chau Kim Commune, Que Phong District.

On January 28, 2020, patient HTT showed symptoms of fever, cough, sneezing, and difficulty breathing. Detecting symptoms similar to Wuhan flu caused by the new strain of Corona virus, the patient took a bus to the Provincial General Hospital for examination and testing... During his time at home, the patient stayed and had close contact with his parents, brother, and sister-in-law.

At Nghe An Provincial General Hospital, the patient was examined, tested, sampled, isolated, monitored, and treated with intravenous fluids, antipyretics, and antibiotics to prevent secondary infection at the hospital's Tropical Disease Center. The patient's sample was sent to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology for testing, and the official results are expected to be available in 72 hours.

Dr. Que Anh Tram - Director of the Tropical Disease Center, Nghe An General Hospital said: The health of patient HTT is progressing well. The patient's fever has gone away and all symptoms have decreased.
