(Baonghean.vn) - That was the direction of the Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training at an online meeting on the prevention and control of acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona virus.

On the morning of February 4, the Department of Education and Training held an online conference with schools and education and training departments of 21 districts, cities and towns to disseminate information on the prevention and control of acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona virus.

Carefully check students whose relatives have traveled to epidemic areas.

The conference took place at a time when the work of preventing and fighting the Corona epidemic was taking place very urgently. In Nghe An, due to its own characteristics, through surveys, there were quite a few localities with students whose parents worked in China.

For example, in Xiangyang District, there are 507 students whose parents work in China and 4 Chinese people are staying in the area. Currently, 1 student in Xá Lượng Commune is sick and quarantined. In Quỳ Châu District, there are also more than 500 students whose relatives work in China.

Although the number of students is quite large, according to local reports, all students have been fully monitored and supervised (most have passed the 14-day quarantine period).

Schools have promptly isolated students who showed signs of fever or illness. For example, in Cua Lo town, during Tet, a student went to celebrate Tet with his parents in China. However, after returning to Vietnam, he was quarantined in Hai Phong after transiting into the country and has not shown any unusual signs.

Stop all extra classes in schools

To prevent the epidemic, many schools in the area have also stepped up disinfection work and some schools have carried out disinfection. Of which, Vinh city has 21 schools actively spraying disinfectant.

However, there are still difficulties such as lack of disinfectant solution, many schools have not really paid attention to parents and there are still difficulties in providing masks for students. Some parents are worried so they let their children stay home from school a lot (especially in preschool).

With the above shortcomings, at the conference, representatives of the Provincial Center for Disease Control provided specific instructions for schools to have disease prevention plans according to the correct procedures.

In particular, the province has also planned to provide 9 tons of Cloramin B to spray for disinfection in all schools in the province and will spray soon in the near future.

Districts and towns such as Tuong Duong, Cua Lo town, Hoang Mai town... have also had plans to use reserve budgets to buy detoxifying chemicals or equip schools with thermometers to measure body temperature.

Regarding the stabilization of teaching and learning in schools, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh affirmed: During this time, Nghe An has not implemented a uniform break in schools. However, for schools with many students whose parents work in China, school leaders, depending on specific conditions, may let students take a partial break. Suspected students need to be isolated to ensure their health.

In case the province implements a mass school break, the industry will notify parents and schools early so that they can be proactive and have specific instructions for students to study at home.

The Director of the Department of Education and Training also requested that during this time, schools stop extra classes and cultural and exchange activities at schools. In particular, flag-raising ceremonies will change their format to avoid large gatherings.

Currently, the Nghe An Department of Education has established a hotline for corona virus prevention and control. If there is any information that needs to be reported, teachers, students and parents can call the two phone numbers 0983565287; 0912131516.
