Re-evaluate the entire area, productivity and output of 12 key crops in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu made this statement during a trip to inspect agricultural production in Nam Dan and Thanh Chuong districts.
On February 4, Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation inspected the agricultural production situation in Nam Dan and Thanh Chuong districts.
In localities, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested localities to focus on directing well the planting and care of spring crops, and at the same time develop plans to transform crop structure and increase income value.
In Nam Dan, the delegation visited the 5-hectare fruit tree growing and eco-tourism development model of Mr. Pham Ngoc Loi in Nam Nghia commune.

Recognizing and appreciating the work of converting crop structure in Nam Dan district, when rice only accounts for about 60% of the district's agricultural land area, the rest is vegetables and other high-value fruit trees, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated: Nam Dan needs to promote the effectiveness of converting crop structure, replicating effective models in suitable regions and areas. Focus on linking, finding consumption markets, especially directing commodity production, focusing on food safety to aim for agricultural product export.
In Thanh Chuong district, the delegation inspected the spring crop production in Thanh Lien commune and visited the fruit tree growing model in Thanh Tien commune.
Up to now, Thanh Chuong district has planted about 70% of the 8,200 hectares of spring rice, of which about 200 hectares have been planted by machine.
In the first phase, some communes using water from the pumping station system along Lam River were short of water. Currently, after the direction of the province, the hydroelectric reservoirs have regulated the water discharge level, so there is basically enough water for planting. It is expected that by February 8, Thanh Chuong district will close the spring crop area.

Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu noted: Thanh Chuong has directed production and planting to ensure the crop schedule, the basic rice area is sown and planted; at the same time, it is noted that in the coming time, it is necessary to pay attention to the work of estimating and forecasting the situation of pests and diseases; directing and guiding people to take care of the right process to have clean agricultural products; at the same time, creating links in production, consumption, creating stable product output for farmers.

In particular, this year's production is forecast to take place in conditions of water shortage and drought, the district must focus on directing water-saving irrigation to save water for both summer and autumn production. In agricultural production, attention must be paid to changing the crop structure to increase production value and income.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to strengthen the direction of inspection and control of the quality of fertilizers and pesticides for spring crop production.
At the same time, re-evaluate the entire area, productivity, and output of Nghe An's 12 key crops, evaluate and compare the effectiveness of each crop to propose and advise the province to continue to have plans, mechanisms, and policies to support conversion and development.
