On the afternoon of February 5, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued an urgent dispatch allowing students at all levels (preschool, primary, middle school, high school, and continuing education) to stay home from school to prevent and control the acute respiratory disease caused by the new strain of Corona virus (nCoV). According to this dispatch, today (Friday, February 7), students are allowed to stay home from school until the Department of Education and Training announces the time to return to school.

Keeping students home from school is to minimize the risk of the nCoV epidemic spreading. However, it does not mean that the risk of nCoV is completely eliminated. According to the Nghe An Provincial Center for Disease Control: Prevention and control of nCoV also needs to be taken care of right at the students' homes.

Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Director of the Center for Disease Control of Nghe An province recommends: Nghe An province allows students in the province to stay home from school to help them limit contact with crowded places, reducing the risk of nCoV infection. Therefore, during this time off, parents should try to let their children stay home to study and not go out.

At home, students need to ensure good personal hygiene to prevent disease, regularly wash their hands under running water with soap; exercise regularly, keep warm, eat cooked food, drink boiled water, ensure nutrition, eat lots of green vegetables to increase resistance. At home, children should also not come into contact with wild animals or sick domestic animals or flu.

To prevent diseases for children, parents need to increase house hygiene with detergents, ensure the house is airy, dry, and not damp; clean livestock barns, spray disinfectants around the house and livestock areas.

In case of unavoidable circumstances, children must wear masks to prevent disease; limit going to crowded places; do not come into contact with sick or feverish people; if there is contact, they should stand 2 meters away.

If children show signs of fever, cough, or other health problems while at home, parents should wear masks for their children and go to medical facilities for timely consultation, examination, and treatment. Do not buy medicine to treat at home on your own.
