Another suspected case of dangerous H5N6 flu infection discovered in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Immediately after checking and taking samples suspected of being infected with H5N6 influenza in poultry at a household in Quynh Ba commune (Quynh Luu), all prevention and containment work is being carried out by the locality in a drastic manner.
Right after the H5N6 avian influenza outbreak in Quynh Hong commune (Quynh Luu), recently (February 9), the Quynh Ba commune authorities received a report from Mr. Ho Khac Chau's household in hamlet 7, that in his family's livestock area, poultry stopped eating, became lethargic and then gradually died.
On the same day, the commune leaders and the district veterinary station came to inspect and verify the incident. Mr. Ho Khac Chau said that his family raised small-scale livestock with more than 80 animals, including 27 ducks and 55 chickens; after 1 day of the H5N6 avian influenza outbreak in Quynh Hong commune, his family's livestock suddenly showed unusual signs such as not eating, gradually dying with more than 10 animals, the rest were in a state of depression.

After verification, the authorities have carried out procedures and taken samples for testing. According to Quynh Ba commune officials, as of this morning, February 10, the locality is still waiting for results from samples suspected of being infected with H5N6 influenza in the poultry flock at Mr. Ho Khac Chau's household.
In the meantime, the locality has mobilized forces including commune veterinarians, police officers and hamlet chiefs to go to livestock households in the commune to propagate proactive disease prevention measures such as buying vaccines, spraying disinfectants, and spreading lime around barns and farms.
At the same time, when detecting unusual signs in poultry, people need to immediately report to local authorities and functional agencies for strict inspection and control to prevent the spread of H5N6 avian influenza.

A/H5N6 influenza outbreak in poultry flocks in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - An outbreak of A/H5N6 flu occurred in poultry flocks of 2 families in Quynh Hong commune (Quynh Luu) on the morning of February 7. According to recommendations from veterinary agencies, A/H5N6 flu can spread to humans.
According to the Ministry of Health, H5N6 avian influenza is a dangerous infectious disease caused by influenza virus group A/H5N6. The disease spreads very quickly, killing many poultry species such as chickens, ducks, geese, quails... In particular, H5N6 avian influenza can be transmitted to humans and cause death.
The Ministry of Health requires that in cases of acute respiratory infections or severe pneumonia where the patient has a history of contact with sick poultry that died in an area with influenza A/H5N6, the treating medical facility must take note to collect samples and send them to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
