Nghe An provides 2 million doses of vaccine to prevent avian influenza A/H5N6
(Baonghean.vn) - To deal with the A/H5N6 avian influenza epidemic, Nghe An province has provided 2 million doses of vaccine to 9 districts, cities and towns to vaccinate poultry flocks.

According to the report of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, after 5 outbreaks of A/H5N6 avian influenza occurred in Quynh Luu district, the department provided 2 million doses of A/H5N6 avian influenza vaccine to 9 localities to organize vaccination including: Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Nghi Loc, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Do Luong, Hoang Mai town and Vinh city.
The Department also provided 10,000 liters of chemicals to localities for disinfection.

Mr. Dang Van Minh - Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine added that the 2 million doses of vaccine provided to 9 localities were mainly used to vaccinate small poultry and waterfowl flocks. For poultry and waterfowl farms with 2,000 birds or more, farm owners must proactively vaccinate.
