The Ministry of Health classifies 3 groups including suspected, possible and confirmed Covid-19, which are recorded by medical facilities, cared for and treated.

On February 15, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health requested health departments and hospitals to rectify the management of suspected and Covid-19 patients at medical examination and treatment facilities. Accordingly, review the reception and classification of patients into 3 groups: suspected, possible, and confirmed.

Medical facilities, in coordination with local authorities and police, strictly manage patients and do not allow them to leave the quarantine area without permission to be discharged from the hospital. These units will be responsible for allowing patients to leave the quarantine area.

On the morning of February 15, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen, when inspecting the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic in Binh Xuyen district, emphasized that it is necessary to do a good job of zoning and screening infected people for isolation, treatment, and disinfection of the environment where they live. Currently, 315 people in Son Loi commune, Binh Xuyen district, where many Covid-19 patients are, have left the area after the quarantine order was issued. Authorities are making specific statistics and finding ways to bring these people back to their localities for mandatory quarantine.

"We need to propagate so that people do not panic but remain vigilant. Medical staff must continue to screen carefully to avoid missing people who need to be quarantined," said Mr. Tuyen.

The Ministry of Health also requires strict management of the specimens of these three groups, to prevent loss or dissemination. Those who are not responsible are not allowed to access and handle specimens.

In case of referral, the medical examination and treatment facility must arrange vehicles, medical staff or request emergency support from a higher-level hospital to ensure the patient's security and safety. At the same time, comply with regulations on handing over the patient to the hospital receiving the referral.

The Covid-19 epidemic started in Wuhan in December 2019 and spread to all 31 provinces and cities of China. As of today, 27 countries and territories have recorded more than 67,000 cases, 1,527 deaths and 8,193 recoveries.
