Bought 15 million dong worth of drugs for later use, sentenced to 15 years in prison
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to drug addiction, Dinh Van Phuc, residing in Thai Hoa town, bought 5 packages of pink phien worth 15 million VND for use. Before he could use it, he was discovered and arrested by the authorities.
On February 20, the Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial of Dinh Van Phuc (born 1982), residing in Quang Phong ward, Thai Hoa town, for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".

According to the records, due to drug addiction, in the early morning of September 23, 2019, Phuc took a bus to Chau Thon commune (Que Phong) to find a seller of ecstasy to buy for later use. Phuc agreed to buy 5 packages of ecstasy for 15 million VND. That same evening, Phuc returned to Thai Hoa town, took out 5 ecstasy pills to use, and put the rest in his pocket.
While walking on the street, Phuc was checked by the Thai Hoa town police team and discovered to be in possession of the 5 packages of drugs mentioned above.
During the night, Thai Hoa town police conducted an emergency search of Dinh Van Phuc's residence and seized two more packages of heroin hidden in a handbag and five pink pills hidden in the refrigerator.
Authorities determined that the total amount of drugs that Dinh Van Phuc was storing was 102 grams. For the crime of "Illegal storage of drugs", Dinh Van Phuc was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Provincial People's Court.
