(Baonghean.vn) - As of 1 p.m. on February 22, the sea level was still high, so the sunken ship at Dien Chau estuary (Nghe An) could not be salvaged. Dien Chau fishermen had to bring food to the shore to eat, waiting for the tide to go down to save the ship.

The ship sank at Dien Chau estuary

Fisherman Pham Van Tung in Bac Chien Thang, Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district said that his boat sank at about 2am on February 22, while on the way back from fishing at sea to Lach Van fishing port. At that time, there were 5 fishermen and a lot of seafood on board, fortunately, fishermen from other boats promptly rescued all 5 people on board.

The location where fisherman Pham Van Tung's ship sank, at Dien Thanh estuary, about 1 km away from Lach Van fishing port. According to Mr. Pham Van Tung, the reason the ship sank was because the estuary was silted up, the ship ran aground, encountered strong winds and waves, causing the ship to sink. In the photo: Parts of the ship were flooded.

Due to being stranded, oil on board

spilled into the sea, causing the Dien Thanh estuary area to be covered in oil.

Anxious because the ship had not been salvaged, the ship owner's family brought food to the shore for the crew to eat, waiting for the tide to go down so they could hire a salvage machine. The tide was expected to go down at around 3 p.m., when the salvage work could begin.

Fishermen have prepared full equipment to salvage the ship when the tide goes down.
