(Baonghean.vn) - These days, the image of a kapok tree in full bloom, with nearly 30 honeybee colonies making nests in the home of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoan's family in Cau Dat village, Thanh Son commune, Anh Son (Nghe An) is so beautiful that it has made most passersby stop and admire.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoan, Cau Dat village, Thanh Son commune, the owner of the kapok tree, her family's kapok tree has been planted for 40 years. Although there is another kapok tree of the same "age" in the opposite garden, for some unknown reason, the bees did not choose to stay there but instead came to her family's kapok tree to "settle" for the past 5 years.

Ms. Hoan recalls that in the first year, there were only 3 colonies coming to stay, then the following years the number of colonies increased very quickly, in 2017 alone there were 46 colonies, in 2018 there were more than 40 colonies. Usually, from April to May, the bee colonies start to build nests, because this is the warm and sunny season, and in October they fly away to avoid the cold. This year, the bee colonies came to build nests earlier than every year, and it was right when the kapok flowers were blooming, so it looked very beautiful. Up to now, there are nearly 30 bee colonies on the tree. Every day, visitors passing by this route stop to admire and marvel, some people find it strange and beautiful and even take pictures to keep as souvenirs.

Mr. Lo Anh Hong - Chairman of Thanh Son Commune People's Committee said: In recent years, the kapok tree of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoan in Cau Dat village has had many honeybee colonies coming to stay, which has become familiar to local people. This year, the bees have come earlier than every year, and it is the season of kapok flowers blooming, so it looks very beautiful. Because Mrs. Hoan's kapok tree is located on provincial road 534 going to Binh Son and Tho Son communes (Anh Son district), Tien Ky commune (Tan Ky district), it has attracted the attention of many passersby.

According to our observations, among more than 30 honey bee hives, the largest hives are 1.3 - 1.5 m long and nearly 1 m wide; the smallest hives are nearly 0.5 m long and 0.3 m wide. And Ms. Hoan also said that the number of hives will continue to increase in the coming time because every day through monitoring, we see new swarms of bees continuing to build hives.
