Drug addicts in Vinh City possess many 'hot' weapons to sell drugs

(Baonghean.vn) - Having a criminal record for theft and being addicted to drugs, Duc bought drugs and sold them to young people in Vinh City to use in bars, karaoke bars, etc. to have money to spend and support his addiction.

On February 23, 2020, Vinh City Police (Nghe An) announced that the Investigation Police Agency has just initiated a case and prosecuted Tran Huu Duc (born in 1999), residing in Block 12, Ben Thuy Ward, Vinh City, for illegal drug trafficking.

In early January 2020, detectives from the Economic Police Team of Vinh City Police discovered that a number of subjects were organizing the sale of drugs to addicts at bars, karaoke bars, hotels, and motels in Vinh City. Project 120M was established.

After a period of collecting documents and information about the subject, the Investigation Committee identified the suspect as Tran Huu Duc (born in 1999), residing in block 12, Ben Thuy ward, Vinh city.

Duc had a criminal record for theft and was addicted to drugs, so to have money to spend and support his addiction, Duc bought drugs and then sold them to young people in Vinh City for use in bars, karaoke bars, etc. To avoid the police's sight, Duc rented many different places to hide drugs.

The investigation team discovered that one of the locations Duc rented was a kiosk in block 9, Truong Thi ward, Vinh city, disguised as a motorbike rental business in the Vinh University area for drug trafficking activities.

On the night of February 3, the “target” was discovered leaving the rental kiosk, and it was determined that the subject was preparing to trade drugs. The task force immediately divided into many working groups to quickly lie in wait for the opportunity to act. At around 10:10 p.m. the same day, when Duc appeared in the Truong Tien area, Hung Binh ward, Vinh city, the detectives suddenly raided and caught him red-handed while he was illegally trading drugs.

During the on-site search, the Task Force seized a package of ketamine weighing 1.26 grams. From the collected evidence, the Vinh City Police Department issued an emergency search warrant for Tran Huu Duc's residence in Block 12, Ben Thuy Ward and a kiosk in Block 9, Truong Thi Ward; seized additional related evidence, including: 42.815 grams of various drugs, 2 electronic scales, 1 pistol, 1 pellet gun, 60 pellet bullets, 2 knives, 5 swords, 1 motorbike, 1 mobile phone and some evidence related to this subject's illegal drug trafficking activities.

The case is currently under further investigation.
