Shocked when more than 200 million VND in the car trunk 'disappeared'

In a short time, the police identified the thief and recovered the stolen money.

On February 21, the Investigation Police Agency of Long Xuyen City Police, An Giang Province, announced that it had just returned VND219,900,000 to Ms. Bui Thi My Phuong, 42 years old, in My Long Ward, Long Xuyen City. This is the amount of money that was stolen by a thief on the afternoon of February 18.

Ms. Bui Thi My Phuong received the money back from the Investigation Police Agency of Long Xuyen City Police.

Previously, at around 3:00 p.m. on February 18, Ms. Phuong went to Sacombank on Ton Duc Thang Street, My Binh Ward, Long Xuyen City to withdraw 230 million VND.

After withdrawing, Ms. Phuong took 10 million VND and put it in her bag, put the remaining money in the trunk of her motorbike and drove to Long Xuyen City Electricity to pay the electricity bill. When she returned to her motorbike, Ms. Phuong discovered that all the money in her trunk had been stolen, so she went to the police to report it.

Upon receiving the report, Long Xuyen City Police coordinated with My Binh Ward Police to investigate, verify and search for the subject. In a short time, using professional measures, the police force identified the subject as Tran Chi Dung (37 years old, in My Hoa Ward, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province).

At around 5pm the same day, Dung was arrested by the Long Xuyen City Police Criminal Police. Searching Dung’s residence, the police seized 219,900,000 VND found in the chicken coop.

The case is currently being further investigated by Long Xuyen City Police./.
