According to statistics from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Nghe An currently has 4,835 workers working in Korea. Of these, 315 will expire and return to their hometowns within the next 6 months. However, this is only a list of workers going to Korea under the EPS Program that the authorities can manage.
In fact, in Korea there is a large number of workers going through illegal routes such as tourism, trade... In addition, there is also a large number of Nghe An students studying and working in this country.
Currently, the authorities have not recorded any cases of infection in Korea of Vietnamese people. For the departure batch in April and May 2020 for new workers to Korea and Japan, the authorities have also asked the employers to postpone the time until the epidemic has taken a positive turn.
Meanwhile, many workers and international students in Korea are considering returning home for fear of being infected with the epidemic.
Discussing this matter, Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Director of the Center for Disease Control of Nghe An province said that the locality is still waiting for instructions from the Ministry of Health regarding people returning from Korea. "There is currently no document guiding this. Therefore, Nghe An has not quarantined people returning from Korea," Mr. Dinh said.
The National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has decided that people entering from South Korea must declare their health status. Only those with symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, etc. will be required to be quarantined.
Meanwhile, in Da Nang, the locality has decided to quarantine all 80 people entering from South Korea for 14 days. These are people who flew directly from Daegu City - the "hotbed" of Covid-19 - to Da Nang at noon on February 24.
