Here, the authorities discovered over 30,000 masks that imitated the design of 4-layer medical masks and did not have an antibacterial layer. Mr. Bui Van Dai - the owner of the facility could not present documents proving the origin of all input materials for mask production. Dai admitted that the input materials came from a man with an address in Trieu Son, Thanh Hoa. With a verbal contract, this man ordered his facility to manufacture the above type of masks.

It is worth mentioning that Bui Van Dai's facility was previously a slaughterhouse. Seeing the increasing demand for medical masks among the people, Dai purchased machinery and hired workers to produce fake medical masks from February 20, 2020. If the incident is not detected and handled, over 30,000 masks from the first production batch reaching consumers will cause serious consequences in the work of preventing the Covid-19 epidemic, which is having complicated developments.
Currently, the authorities have drawn up a record and temporarily detained all of the above poor quality masks and 5 sewing machines for investigation./.
