Real estate lady makes gullible man lose more than 9 billion
With her trick, the female company director made a man trust her and "donate" more than 9 billion VND.
According to the accusation, Thuan Thanh Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company, of which Ms. Lien is the director, is not a secondary company for Hanoi General Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Geleximco), Ha Tay branch.
Around 2009, Ms. Lien met Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Khanh (Chairman and General Director of Hoang Hai Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company), who also worked in real estate business.
Ms. Lien does not own and is not allowed to sell the house and land at plots 10, 11, 12 in lot D22, area D of the new urban area project Le Trong Tan - Geleximco in Ha Dong district and Hoai Duc district.
But because of the intention to appropriate other people's money, the defendant, through Ms. Khanh, provided false information.
Trusting Thuan Thanh Company as a secondary investor for the investor of the new urban area project Le Trong Tan - Geleximco, Mr. Tran Ngoc H. (born 1965, Hanoi) signed a land purchase contract.
Ms. Lien drafted and signed 3 loan contracts with Mr. H., the content of which stated that he had the right to buy 3 plots of land number 10, 11, 12, Le Trong Tan new urban area - Geleximco.
Ms. Lien collected a total of more than 9 billion VND from Mr. H., and asked Ms. Khanh to collect the difference of more than 1.4 billion VND for the 3 plots of land Mr. H. wanted to buy at the Geleximco project.
After receiving Mr. H's money, Ms. Lien did not fulfill the agreements in the contract and did not contact the investor to buy the land plots for him.
By the end of 2011, when Mr. H. discovered and demanded the money back, the defendant paid Mr. H. 1.9 billion VND, and appropriated and used the rest for personal use.
Verification results show that the Le Trong Tan new urban area project is invested by Geleximco company. Geleximco Ha Tay branch affirms that it has no business or cooperation relationship with Hoang Hai company and Thuan Thanh company.
Geleximco also did not sign any contracts with the two "ladies" Bui Kim Lien and Tran Thi Ngoc Khanh regarding capital contribution and purchase and sale of land lots in area D of the project.
In addition to the sentence imposed on the defendant, the panel of judges ordered Ms. Lien to return the remaining amount of money she had misappropriated. The panel of judges also recommended that the investigation agency continue to clarify Ms. Khanh’s actions to avoid letting criminals escape.
