Update on the Corona virus outbreak in Vietnam: 81 suspected cases, more than 6,000 people monitored

As of March 1, Vietnam still has 81 suspected Covid-19 cases being quarantined in hospitals, in addition to more than 6,000 people being monitored and medically supervised.

According to the Ministry of Health, 81 suspected cases of acute pneumonia caused by the new Corona virus (Covid-19) are being quarantined in hospitals, 6,000 people are being monitored and medically supervised, including those in close contact and entering from epidemic areas.

Thus, for more than 2 weeks, Vietnam has not recorded any new cases of Covid-19, the number of suspected cases is also decreasing, however the number of people being monitored and supervised medically has increased.

In Hanoi, as of March 1, there were no more suspected cases of Covid-19, the total number of close contacts was 561 cases, but all of these cases had ended medical surveillance and showed no signs of Covid-19 infection.

In Ho Chi Minh City, there are still 2 suspected cases awaiting test results. The city is also quarantining 250 cases, of which 222 are in Cu Chi district, 18 are in Nha Be district, and the remaining 10 are in District 7.

Another 120 cases are being quarantined at district-level quarantine facilities and 115 people are being monitored at home.

In Da Nang, 20 cases are being quarantined in hospitals, including 3 foreigners. Da Nang is also implementing centralized quarantine for 612 cases and community surveillance for 19 cases.
