Container truck crashed into 3 houses in Nghe An at night, many people escaped death

(Baonghean.vn) - While sleeping soundly, 3 residents on National Highway 1A were awakened by a loud crash. They ran outside and discovered part of the house had collapsed, and a truck was stuck in the rubble of 3 adjacent houses.

At around 4am this morning (March 2), a container truck with license plate 35C 111.70 traveling from Vinh to Hanoi suddenly crashed into 3 houses at Tan Phong block, Quynh Thien ward, Hoang Mai town.

At the scene, the car crashed through a series of guardrails, bent an electric pole before crashing into and collapsing three houses, including those of Mr. Ho Sy Vuong, Mrs. Ho Thi Tai and Mrs. Nguyen Thi My.

The roofs of three houses collapsed, the walls were broken, and their belongings were scattered under the wheels. There were people sleeping in all three houses, but fortunately no one was injured. The driver was also slightly injured and was taken to the emergency room. The container truck had flat tires, a blown-out front, and broken windows.

The accident happened at the intersection down to Con Temple, so traffic in both directions was congested for many hours.

Authorities arrived promptly to rescue and pull the container truck out. Because the truck was carrying ancient tree stumps, the recovery work was difficult.

Mr. Phan Duc Diem - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Thien Ward, Hoang Mai Town said: The local government is working with functional agencies to organize the clearance and repair of the scene of the accident that occurred in the area.
