The Frankfurt Panorama (FAZ) newspaper and several other German press sources reported that German police raids were conducted at more than 30 locations in seven states across Germany, including the capital Berlin, Hessen, Sachsen, Niedersachsen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Baden-Württemberg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
A spokesman for Germany's Federal Police said the focus of the operation was raids in Berlin, with police searching apartments, nail salons and restaurants in the districts of Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain and Lichtenberg.
The investigation into the ring began in June 2019 and targeted 13 suspects, some of whom were detained on March 3.
Currently, the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany has contacted the German Federal Police to obtain more information about the incident.
