Nghe An Young Physicians Association promotes community activities

(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An Province Young Physicians Association has just organized the implementation of tasks for 2020 and organized the organization consolidation. The Association has set out goals for community health activities.

In 2019, the Provincial Young Physicians Association proactively coordinated with the health sector and other departments and organizations to organize volunteer activities related to their functions, expertise and strengths. Specifically: The Association examined, provided health consultation and provided free medicine to 2,700 people in the districts of Ky Son, Tan Ky, Quy Chau, Dien Chau, Nam Dan and Thanh Chuong.

The Provincial Young Physicians Association organized a Handwashing Day with soap for 5,000 students at kindergartens and primary schools; distributed more than 10,000 free porridges and rice to poor patients; organized propaganda activities on drowning prevention, adolescent reproductive health care, and child abuse prevention for nearly 9,000 youths across the province; and mobilized members, youths and people to donate 1,200 units of blood.

District-level young doctor clubs have organized more than 25 free medical examinations and medicine distribution sessions for more than 10,786 subjects, with a total value of nearly 850 million VND, attracting the participation of more than 780 volunteer doctors and nurses; distributed more than 18,000 free porridges and rice to poor patients; built live blood banks at 10 district-level young doctor clubs; maintained 05 Patient Support clubs.

In 2020, the Provincial Young Physicians Association proposed the theme of the year as "Young physicians study and follow Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteer and be creative for community health". The Association set out a number of basic targets to strive for: The Provincial Young Physicians Association organized at least 02 health check-ups, consultations, and free medicine distribution for the people. Each Physicians Club in the districts, cities, and towns coordinated to organize at least 02 health check-ups, consultations, and free medicine distribution for the people.

The whole province organized medical examinations, health consultations and free medicine distribution for 5,000 subjects; mobilized to donate at least 4,500 units of blood; provided free eye surgery for 100 elderly people; trained in basic first aid methods, provided nutrition consultation for 300 kindergarten and primary school teachers, and women with young children in the whole province; provided reproductive health care consultation for 500 youth union members./.
