Husband died, daughter heartbrokenly sent her father, the perpetrator, to prison
(Baonghean.vn) - The marriage was broken because her husband was abusive and often threatened to kill the whole family, so Ms. H. (residing in Con Cuong district) decided to file for divorce. However, while the court was in the process of handling the divorce petition, her father-in-law stabbed his son-in-law to death.
Killed son-in-law for being rude
Nearly a year has passed, but people in Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district are still shocked by the incident where Mr. Vu Van Son (born in 1972) used a knife to kill his son-in-law. Because, Mr. Son is considered a gentle person, loving his children and grandchildren. Moreover, the victim Nguyen Van H. had lived with his wife's family for a long time. The special case caused a stir in the quiet and peaceful mountainous commune.
Therefore, the trial of Vu Van Son for murder at Nghe An Provincial Court has attracted public attention. Many people took a bus and traveled a long distance to Vinh City to follow the trial. Among them, Ms. Vu Thi H. came to court with a sad face. Because the defendant in the case is her biological father, and the victim is her husband. Although she and her husband had irreconcilable conflicts, were separated, and divorce proceedings had been sent to court, legally the two were still husband and wife before the murder occurred.

Seeing her father in such a difficult situation made the girl's pain even more excruciating. Since the murder happened, she has been tormented by the thought that it was because of her that her father got into trouble with the law. Because, during the time her marriage with her late husband was having problems, it was her biological parents who took care of her and her child.
According to relatives, in 2013, when she was not yet 18 years old, Ms. H. fell in love with a young man in the same village named H. When his daughter became pregnant, because she was not old enough to get married, Mr. Son still tried to organize a proper wedding for her to inform both families. When his grandchild was almost 1 year old, Nguyen Van H. also became Ms. H.'s legal husband.
After dating for a while, they officially became husband and wife, but conflicts soon arose between the two when H. revealed his true nature. Not only did H. not work hard, he also often beat his wife. Once, after beating his wife, H. called Mr. Son over to… return their daughter home. Loving his children and grandchildren, this man opened his arms to take care of and protect her.
A short time later, Mr. Son saw H. come to apologize and wanted to live with his wife's family. Thinking that his son-in-law had realized his mistake and was worried about the future of his daughter and grandchild, Mr. Son agreed. However, during the time living with his wife's parents, H. still did not change his personality. That was stated by the defendant Son in a choked voice in court: He often beat his wife, when we advised and tried to stop him, H cursed and threatened to kill him. I remember most one time, on the first day of Tet, when the whole family was gathered around the dinner table, he threw the dinner table away. That day, I felt embarrassed in front of the guests.
As time went on, the conflict between Nguyen Van H. and Mr. Son's family became more and more intense. Faced with irreconcilable conflicts, Ms. H. asked for a divorce. H. thought that his wife had a new lover so she went back to her husband's house.
On the afternoon of July 27, 2019, Mr. Vu Van Son went to help with a wedding at an acquaintance's house when his grandson ran up to him and announced that his father had come to find his mother, threatening to kill the whole family. At that time, Ms. H. was away. When Mr. Son returned, H. told his father-in-law to "call his daughter back" or else he would "kill the whole family". Hearing H. cursing, Mr. Son still tried to lower his voice and advise his son to work hard. However, H. continued to curse and threaten to kill him.
When Ms. Vu Thi H. returned, H. thought that his wife was having an affair and asked for clarification. Although Ms. H. insisted that it was not true, Nguyen Van H. still did not believe it and loudly challenged her, "I will kill everyone." In response to his son-in-law's insolence, Mr. Son scolded H. for being rude and then kicked her out of the house. H. got into a fight with her father-in-law. After being pushed down by H., Mr. Son grabbed his son and stabbed his son-in-law repeatedly. After learning that H. had died, Mr. Vu Van Son turned himself in to the authorities.
The pain of those left behind
In court, the defendant, with a thin body, admitted that his act of murder was wrong. However, the defendant said that because his son-in-law was rude and had been suppressed for a long time, he could not control his actions, leading to the murder.
Speaking in court as the victim’s wife and legal representative, Ms. H. affirmed that the defendant’s statements were true. The woman said that her husband had beaten and threatened to kill her many times. One day, she was beaten because she did not give him money to go out drinking. The victim’s wife did not request any further civil compensation and at the same time hoped that the court would reduce the defendant’s sentence.

For the crime of murder, Vu Van Son was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay 88 million VND in compensation to the victim’s representative. Seeing her father being taken away, the young girl could only watch helplessly and sadly.
Her father went to jail because her husband had lost all love for her, which made Ms. H. even more hurt. For her, the months ahead will be filled with many difficulties as she takes care of and raises her young child alone...
