Nghe An postpones 2020 provincial excellent student selection exam to prevent Corona virus
(Baonghean.vn) - This is an important exam in the school year to select excellent students to form a national team and is a basis for evaluating the learning outcomes of schools.
This afternoon, March 9, the Department of Education and Training issued an official dispatch on postponing the provincial excellent student exam for the 2019-2020 school year due to the complicated developments of the pneumonia epidemic caused by the new strain of Corona virus (Covid-19 epidemic).
According to the plan, the provincial excellent student selection exam for grade 9 and grade 11 students will be held on March 27 and 28, 2019 and is expected to have more than 3,000 students in the whole province participating. The time to reorganize the exam will be announced later by the Department of Education and Training.

It is known that this exam gathers many students from 21 districts, cities, towns and more than 90 high schools and continuing education centers in the province. Therefore, to ensure the safety of students in limiting large gatherings and restricting movement out of the residential area, the postponement is considered appropriate at this time.
Thus, after the Covid-19 epidemic, this is the second time the Department of Education and Training has postponed activities that gather a large number of students. Previously, in February, the Department decided to postpone the Phu Dong Sports Festival at cluster level No. 3 and No. 4 in Nghi Loc and Yen Thanh districts and the Phu Dong Sports Festival at provincial level in Vinh city.
Currently, students across Nghe An province have had to stay home from school for many weeks to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.
