(Baonghean.vn) - All citizens, after completing entry procedures, will be taken to a temporary centralized quarantine area in Ky Son, then transferred to a military centralized quarantine area in Vinh City.

On March 19, a working delegation of Nghe An province led by Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected and surveyed the centralized quarantine points for Covid-19 prevention in the mountainous districts of Ky Son and Tuong Duong. Accompanying them was Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of Nghe An Department of Health.

This move comes amid the increasingly complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. In recent days, a large number of Nghe An people living and working in Laos have flocked back to their country. Currently, about 200 people who have just returned have been quarantined in a military barracks.

Nghe An currently has about 3,000 workers working in Laos and it is expected that most of them will return home in the coming days.

In Ky Son district, the delegation inspected the work of disease prevention and control, and welcomed Vietnamese citizens in general and Nghe An people in particular who were completing entry procedures at Nam Can border gate. According to records this morning, the number of workers returning to the country here is over 70 people. Initial health quarantine for citizens was carried out seriously.

Currently at Nam Can border gate, all citizens after completing entry procedures will be taken to a temporary centralized quarantine area and then transferred to the military centralized quarantine area in Vinh City. However, with the large number expected to arrive in the coming days, this quarantine center will be overloaded. Therefore, Nghe An province is proactively surveying to establish centralized quarantine areas right in Ky Son, Tuong Duong districts and some other districts.

After the survey, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long agreed to recommend to the Provincial Steering Committee to requisition Ky Son Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities with a maximum capacity of 320 people and Tuong Duong Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities with about 300 people to serve as centralized isolation facilities of the province to serve the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Comrade Bui Dinh Long requested the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of these districts to coordinate with relevant levels and sectors to urgently develop plans and scenarios; prepare necessary conditions from facilities; equipment to human resources and logistics to be able to receive people for quarantine in the next few days.
