Close-up inside the centralized quarantine area for citizens returning from abroad to Nghe An

On March 19, Colonel Duong Minh Hien - Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Nghe An province said: To prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic, from the afternoon of March 18 to 6:00 p.m. on March 19, Nghe An province organized the reception of nearly 300 Vietnamese citizens returning from Laos through two road border gates Cau Treo and Nam Can to take them to the military quarantine area in Nghi Phong commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province.

Among the nearly 300 Vietnamese citizens, the majority are workers from Nghe An, in addition to workers from 13 other provinces and cities. The quarantine area also welcomed 2 more Irish tourists traveling from Laos to Vietnam by road.

Through medical examination, Nghe An Department of Health determined that all of these nearly 300 citizens are in normal health, without signs of fever or cough. The citizens were provided with full necessities and meals during the 14 days of centralized quarantine. According to regulations, the citizens will be tested for Covid-19.

Nghe An province forecasts: In the coming days, the number of citizens returning from Laos will increase and mainly return by road through border gates. Currently, Nghe An has about 3,000 workers working in Laos and it is expected that most of them will return home in the coming days. To prepare to receive workers returning from Laos, the Provincial Military Command, Department of Health, Provincial Police, and Border Guard of Nghe An province have prepared all conditions and coordinated with relevant units to be ready to receive more people into the quarantine area.

Colonel Duong Minh Hien - Deputy Commander of Nghe An Provincial Military Command informed: The centralized quarantine area is currently capable of receiving and quarantining 500 people. If the number of returning people exceeds the capacity, the province will mobilize additional centralized quarantine areas of districts and Military Region 4 to ensure epidemic prevention and control work. As of 1 p.m. on March 19, 6 provinces in Military Region 4 have quarantined 5,645 Vietnamese and foreigners coming from epidemic countries; units of Military Region 4 alone have helped localities receive and quarantine 953 people.
