Ho Chi Minh City has 3 more Covid-19 cases, the whole country has 121 cases

The 3 new Covid-19 cases in Ho Chi Minh City all lived or traveled abroad to Vietnam.

All three patients 119, 120 and 121 were retested a second time by the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City to confirm positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Patient 119is male, 29 years old, American nationality, residing in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

The patient works at BCG Financial Consulting Company, 13th floor Mplaza Saigon, 39 Le Duan Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

From March 1 to March 15, the patient frequently traveled between Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and returned to Vietnam on March 15 but did not remember the flight number and date and time of his flight to Vietnam.

After that, the patient went to work and visited some places to eat, entertain, and exercise.

On March 19, the patient had a fever, cough, and sore throat. On March 20, the patient went to FV Hospital for examination and was admitted, isolated, treated, and had samples taken.

Patient 220is a 27-year-old Canadian male residing in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. Occupation is a foreign language teacher. The patient is a close contact of patient 91.

The patient entered Vietnam from Canada from February 11 to present. During his stay in Vietnam, the patient had direct contact with patient 91 from March 14 at several restaurants and entertainment venues, including Buddha Bar.

After discovering patient 91 was positive, the patient was quarantined in District 2 on the afternoon of March 19 and had his sample taken on March 20, when he had no symptoms of the disease.

On March 21, the patient had a fever and dry cough and was transferred to Cu Chi Field Hospital for isolation and treatment.

Patient 121is male, 58 years old, residing in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

On March 18, the patient and his wife returned to Vietnam from New York, USA, transiting at Narita - Japan on ANA airline flight number NH831, seat number 3H (husband), 3K (wife) and entered the country at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 19. The patient and his wife were transferred to quarantine in Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City.

On March 20, the patient had a fever, no cough, no difficulty breathing and was sampled. The patient is currently being isolated and monitored at the Can Gio District Medical Center.

Thus, by early afternoon of March 23, the whole country had recorded 121 cases, of which Hanoi had the most with 38 cases, Ho Chi Minh City ranked second with 30 cases.
