Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc: Youth must be proactive even in the post-Covid-19 period
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated the Central Youth Union for mobilizing young people to join hands in many activities to fight Covid-19.
This morning (March 25), at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc worked with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, assessing the results of the implementation of the Regulation on coordination of work between the Government and the Central Committee of the Youth Union in 2019. Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated the Central Committee of the Youth Union for launching many activities with the whole country to join hands in the fight against Covid-19 in the past time, and emphasized that the youth of the whole country need to raise the issue of being proactive even in the post-Covid-19 period.
Congratulating the youth of the whole country on the occasion of the 89th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2020, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc assessed that throughout history, Vietnamese youth have always upheld the spirit of patriotism and revolution, and have always had many practical activities to implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies. In the context of the epidemic, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at all levels has had many pioneering activities, joining hands with the whole country to fight the epidemic.

Although assessing that Covid-19 is having a negative impact on our country's socio-economy, the Prime Minister said that this is also an opportunity for the Vietnamese Youth Union to demonstrate its will, pioneering spirit, and aspiration to rise up, not only in fighting the pandemic but in all aspects of socio-economic life. Therefore, the Prime Minister emphasized that fighting the pandemic and dealing with its consequences are the major issues this year that the youth of the whole country need to join hands in and raise the question: "How is starting a business during Covid-19 and after Covid-19 for young people? What is the Youth Union movement in the context of Covid-19?".
The Prime Minister highly appreciated First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Le Quoc Phong for having an online dialogue with the youth of the whole country tomorrow, on the occasion of the "birthday" of the Youth Union, with the theme of Aspiration of Vietnamese Youth and the wish that the youth must always be the pioneering force, leading the way, leading the country forward.

Responding to the Government's direction on drastic prevention and control of Covid-19, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has stepped up propaganda work about the epidemic for young people and people; installed 150 field hand-washing stations worth 6.5 billion VND; donated 40,000 bars of soap to propaganda points of the Youth Union; and donated 10 billion VND to buy 10,000 SARS-CoV-2 rapid test kits.
The Youth Union at all levels has also organized many practical activities to disseminate information on epidemic prevention and control measures; established rapid response teams to prevent and control Covid-19; participated in "knocking on doors" to make medical declarations, distribute leaflets, etc.
First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Le Quoc Phong said that this year's "Youth Month" is more special than previous years, because the Central Youth Union has decided not to organize launching ceremonies, campaigns, or celebrations to avoid large gatherings, in response to the Government and Prime Minister's policy on Covid-19 prevention and control. Instead, Youth Month is still being implemented with specific activities, including establishing volunteer teams, promoting initiatives, and collecting donations to support people and quarantine areas./.
