Nghe An youth arrested for organizing 'drug party' with more than 70 participants
(Baonghean.vn) - A young man from Thanh Chuong district was accused of bringing drugs to a birthday party for his friends to use.
On March 31, Nghi Xuan District Police (Ha Tinh) prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Van Quy (27 years old, Thanh Phong Commune, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An), and Le Duy Nhat (31 years old, Truong Loc Commune, Can Loc, Ha Tinh) for 3 months for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".
Quy and Nhat were two of 79 people caught using drugs at a birthday party held at My Friend Karaoke (Xuan An town, Nghi Xuan). Initially, the investigation agency clarified that when attending the birthday party, Quy brought with him 1.7053g of Methampetamine and 2.0934g of ketamine to give to his friends.

In addition to Quy and Nhat being prosecuted, the rest were administratively punished for illegal use of drugs.
Earlier, in the early morning of March 26, the police raided this karaoke bar and caught 79 people gathering to "get high" in many singing rooms. At that time, outside the karaoke bar's gate, there was a sign "temporarily closed to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic". Through a quick test, 74 young people tested positive for drugs.
During the police raid, some young men ran away in all directions. One even climbed a tree and hid for 7 hours but was still discovered.

According to Colonel Vo Trong Hai - Director of Ha Tinh Provincial Police, among them are 25 women and 57 people residing in Nghe An. "Our point of view is to handle it strictly," said the head of Ha Tinh Provincial Police. At the police station, the group confessed that the "drug party" was organized to celebrate the birthday of a member of the group.
