The Prime Minister emphasized that the outbreak should not be allowed to spread to the community at a high level, which could lead to the breakdown of the disease prevention and control infrastructure system.

Speaking at the meeting of the Government Standing Committee on the afternoon of April 3 at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that the spirit of direction in Directive No. 16 of the Prime Minister should not be weakened but should continue to be strictly implemented.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the localities for implementing Directive 16 of the Prime Minister well, but also said that some localities are still mechanical, do not understand the meaning correctly, leading to incorrect application.

The spirit is to implement social distancing resolutely, without hesitation and without worrying about economic impacts.

The goal is to prevent the outbreak from spreading to the community at a high level, which could lead to the breakdown of the disease prevention and treatment infrastructure system. Therefore, it is necessary to comply with the blockade of external sources of infection and tightly isolate internal outbreaks.

Emphasizing that the entire political system is making efforts in the "golden" phase to prevent the outbreak, the Prime Minister stated that this is the phase that requires mobilizing all forces to prevent and combat Covid-19.

Citing international experience, the Prime Minister said that many countries have imposed curfews, and some countries have imposed heavy prison sentences if citizens violate anti-epidemic regulations. In particular, where leaders are concerned and determined to fight the epidemic, the economy will recover well. If the epidemic spreads and causes great harm, the economy will have difficulty recovering, affecting people's confidence.

Recall that although the Government has announced the Covid-19 epidemic nationwide, the Prime Minister has directed ministries and branches to continue implementing plans and promptly respond in case the epidemic worsens.

Informing that he had just had a phone call with the President of South Korea, in which President Moon Jae-in shared that rapid testing is a very good measure to detect the epidemic, the Prime Minister asked the meeting members to give their opinions on whether it should be applied in Vietnam or not, especially for large cities and when funding sources can be mobilized.

The Government has discussed the Draft Resolution of the Government on social security and is seeking opinions from relevant agencies so that the Government can soon issue it, contributing to supporting the lives of the disadvantaged, the disadvantaged, and unemployed workers...

According to the report of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Vietnam has recorded 233 cases of Covid-19, of which 42 cases are related to Bach Mai Hospital. 75 cases have recovered.

The results of the screening of cases related to Bach Mai Hospital up to 6 p.m. on April 2 showed that a total of nearly 44,500 people were screened and were monitored by localities, quarantined at home or in a centralized manner for some subjects. Specifically, 4,593 inpatients, 1,299 outpatients, 30,617 outpatients, 7,167 relatives/caregivers of patients, 145 people working for Truong Sinh Company and 653 other related people were screened.
