Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy inspects Covid-19 prevention and control work

On April 6, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee inspected the work of preventing and controlling the Covid-19 epidemic at the grassroots level and concentrated quarantine areas in the districts of Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Nghia Dan, Thai Hoa town and Vinh city.

Also attending were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Commander of the Provincial Military Command. Members of the Provincial Party Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control; Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health.

SERIOUS AND TIMELY IMPLEMENTATION

The Provincial Party Secretary and the working delegation inspected the activities of the Dien Hong Commune Health Station, Dien Chau District (where 2 people returning from the epidemic area are being quarantined); and inspected the activities of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Quynh Chau Commune, Quynh Luu District.

Next, comrade Thai Thanh Quy inspected the provincial-level centralized quarantine site managed by Thai Hoa town in Long Son ward (located at the old Nghia Hoa commune headquarters). Here, the town's Steering Committee has fully arranged facilities, staff, soldiers, and medical staff ready to receive 100 citizens for centralized quarantine.

The delegation also inspected the quarantine work at Long Son Ward Health Station, Thai Hoa Town. To date, the Station has quarantined 8 citizens returning from the epidemic area, of which 5 have completed the 14-day quarantine period.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and the delegation also inspected the Centralized Quarantine Area set up at the Western Economic and Technical College (campus 2) in Hung Dong hamlet, Tay Hieu commune, Thai Hoa town. This is a location consisting of a 5-storey building with 20 rooms, accommodating more than 200 people and currently quarantining 195 citizens; then the delegation inspected the Centralized Quarantine Area in Nghia Dan district located at the District Medical Center, quarantining 113 citizens returning from Laos and Thailand.

In Thai Hoa town and Nghia Dan district, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and members of the working delegation worked directly at the scene with the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of the two localities.

On the same afternoon, the Provincial Party Secretary and the working delegation inspected the Covid-19 prevention and control work of the Quan Hanh Town Steering Committee and worked with the leaders of Nghi Loc District. According to local reports, Quan Hanh Town has been supervising the home quarantine of 34 citizens, of whom 6 have completed the quarantine. In total, Nghi Loc District is quarantining 262 people at home and is undertaking centralized quarantine for 523 people returning from the epidemic area.

The delegation also inspected the centralized quarantine area under the management of Hoang Mai town, which was set up at the Central College of Transport 4, located in Nghi Lien commune, Vinh city; 186 people are being quarantined here.

EFFECTIVENESS OF EPIDEMIC PREVENTION WORK

Through inspections at the grassroots level, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy assessed that grassroots levels have seriously and promptly implemented the directions of the Government, the Prime Minister and the province on Covid-19 prevention and control. Steering committees from district to commune levels have operated relatively systematically and synchronously.

In particular, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged and highly appreciated the sentiments and sharing of the people of the localities who have unanimously and jointly supported and accompanied the work of epidemic prevention and control; the timely and effective participation of the armed forces, health care, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels, promoting the spirit of mutual love, mutual assistance and sharing of our nation.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy requested localities to continue promoting the achieved results, well implementing centralized quarantine work; reviewing and firmly grasping the area, strictly managing people returning from epidemic areas; well managing the activities of citizens in quarantine areas; strictly and synchronously implementing epidemic prevention procedures in centralized quarantine areas to ensure absolute safety.

The Provincial Party Secretary also noted that localities need to continue to focus on implementing Directive No. 15/CT-TTg on drastically implementing the peak period of Covid-19 prevention and control and Directive No. 16/CT-TTg on implementing urgent measures to prevent and control Covid-19 of the Prime Minister.

In particular, it is necessary to strictly implement social isolation for 15 days from 0:00 on April 1, 2020; resolutely close non-essential service and goods businesses; rationally and effectively use epidemic prevention and control resources, including support resources from the people because the epidemic situation is still complicated.

Currently, the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic is urgent, but at the same time, the district and commune levels also need to continue to direct and implement solutions for socio-economic development; review the number of workers returning to avoid the epidemic in the area, grasp the needs to have a plan to introduce jobs, and use them effectively when the epidemic ends. At the same time, pay attention to the direction of Party congresses at all levels to ensure compliance with principles, suitability and flexibility.

At the inspection destinations, the working delegation presented gifts to encourage the forces directly performing the quarantine task; presented gifts of support from organizations and individuals through the contribution channel of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.
