(Baonghean.vn) - This is the direction of the Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training on implementing online teaching at schools.

On the afternoon of April 10, Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training worked with the Department of Education and Training of Tan Ky district. The main content was to learn about issues related to the organization of teaching and learning in schools during the time when schools had to close to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic.

Tan Ky is a mountainous district, with many difficult conditions. However, up to now, the district has implemented online teaching quite promptly and some schools have taught quite effectively through teaching software according to the Department's instructions.

However, due to regional conditions, the implementation is quite favorable for students in central areas and those who have computers. However, in some places, because students are studying by phone, the efficiency is not high and there are many difficulties. To overcome this situation, many schools have assigned staff and teachers to go to students' homes to guide, deliver and collect homework.

For high school students, studying is quite convenient because students in the district have studied for 7 weeks and if following the streamlined program, students will have 8 more weeks to complete the program. It is expected that if students return to school in May, schools will complete the program in June 2020.

Speaking at the meeting, the Director of the Department of Education and Training highly appreciated the efforts of teachers in recent times.

In the coming time, to ensure teaching and learning, the Department of Education and Training directs schools to continue organizing online teaching. However, to ensure a common ground and to be suitable for the general level of students in the whole province, online teaching mainly focuses on enhancing guidance for students to self-study, self-study knowledge with guidance (according to the reduced program) and increasing students' review and practice. Key knowledge will be organized when students return to school.

As for gifted subjects such as Fine Arts, Music, Physical Education, etc., the Department has also requested the Departments of Education and Training not to conduct online teaching. Instead, these subjects will be implemented into integrated topics and activities and will be organized to teach when students return to school.

Currently, the Department of Education and Training has no plans for students to return to school. However, schools must still prepare all plans to ensure the safety of students when they return to school. Particularly for final year students, in parallel with teaching, schools also need to organize review and consolidate knowledge to prepare conditions for upcoming exams.

To ensure the rights of students, the Provincial Excellent Student Exam will still be held in May if students' studies return to normal.

On the same afternoon, a working delegation from the Nghe An Department of Education and Training visited, encouraged and presented 20 million VND and 100 sets of protective clothing to the concentrated medical quarantine area in Tan Ky district.

Responding to the call for the entire population to participate in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic, the entire industry has mobilized support in cash and kind worth nearly 300 million VND.
