Nghe An: Highlights on April 16

(Baonghean.vn) - The Prime Minister recognized Yen Thanh district as meeting new rural standards; Continued suspension of all types of passenger transport; Nghe An students continue to stay home from school to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic; More than 150 people went for testing to donate blood to help a police captain with cancer... are the highlights of April 16.

*NON APRIL 16, the Government Office issued Notice No. 158/TB-VPCP on "Conclusion of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the regular Government meeting on Covid-19 prevention and control".

The Prime Minister commended and highly appreciated all levels, sectors, localities and enterprises for focusing on directing production and business, contributing to economic growth and realizing the dual goals set by the Government.

At the request of the Prime Minister, the high-risk local group includes 12 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh, Quang Nam, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Tay Ninh. These localities continue to focus on leading and directing the implementation of Directive 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister until April 22 or 30, 2020 and may consider extending it depending on the development of the epidemic in the area; at the same time, pay attention to removing difficulties, promoting production activities, building infrastructure, and ensuring the circulation of goods.

The group of localities at risk includes 16 provinces and cities: Hai Phong, Can Tho, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Kien Giang, Soc Trang, An Giang, Dong Thap, Ha Giang. These localities need to strictly implement measures according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTg until April 22, 2020 and will be adjusted on April 22 depending on the development of the epidemic.

The low-risk group includes the remaining 35 provinces. Localities are required to continue implementing Directive 15/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister.

*TOn that basis, on the afternoon of April 16, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee,The Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province has signed and issued urgent Official Dispatch No. 2294/UBND - VX on continuing to strictly implement Directive No. 16/CT - TTg of the Prime Minister.

The dispatch requests the Heads of provincial departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations; Chairmen of People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns to continue strictly implementing Directive No. 16/CT-TTg dated March 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister, documents of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing urgent measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic until April 22, 2020.

*TThe Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 524/QD-TTgRecognized Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province to meet NTM standards in 2019.

Up to now, Yen Thanh district has had 38/38 communes recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting new rural standards, Yen Thanh town meeting urban civilized standards. Yen Thanh has also met 9/9 criteria for a new rural district including: planning, transportation, irrigation, health, culture, education, production, environment, security, and social order.

*VRegarding transportation activities, Nghe An Department of Transport has just issued an official dispatch requestingcontinue to suspend operations of fixed-route passenger transport.

Mr. Hoang Phu Hien - Director of the Department of Transport said: The suspension time is from 00:00 on April 16, 2020 until there is a new directive document from the Prime Minister, the Provincial People's Committee and implementation instructions from the Ministry of Transport, the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, the Inland Waterways Administration and the Department of Transport of Nghe An.

*SOn April 16, officers of the Post Offices of 21 districts, cities and towns in Nghe An province simultaneously launched a campaign toPay pensions, social insurance benefits, and meritorious people right at home. This is the first payment plan agreed upon by the Social Insurance, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Provincial Post Office to ensure safety during the Covid-19 pandemic in accordance with Directive No. 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister; Official Dispatch No. 1943 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province dated March 31, 2020 on payment of pensions, social insurance and unemployment insurance benefits for April and May.

To ensure safety in preventing and combating the Covid-19 epidemic, the Provincial Post Office pays special attention and requires payment staff to strictly measure body temperature before leaving, use hand sanitizer and wear masks throughout the process of serving beneficiaries.

Thus, students of kindergarten, primary and secondary schools in Nghe An province will have an "unprecedented" vacation. During the school break, the Department of Education and Training will continue to direct schools to implement online teaching and some other forms to ensure that students' learning is not interrupted.

After receiving calls from organizations and individuals, on the morning of April 16, along with 90 officers and soldiers of Nghe An Provincial Police participating in the testing, more than 60 people of all ages and social backgrounds from many localities also came to Nghe An Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center to test for blood type in the hope of donating blood to Captain Giap.
