Xa Doai Parish cooperates with the Provincial Fatherland Front to give gifts to poor parishioners
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to encourage and help poor Catholic households in Xa Doai Parish, Nghi Dien Commune (Nghi Loc), the Priest and Pastoral Council of Xa Doai Parish coordinated with the Provincial Fatherland Front to visit, encourage and give gifts to 20 poor Catholic households with difficult circumstances in the area.

Here, Father Doan Van Huy - Deputy Parish Priest, representative of the Pastoral Council of Xa Doai Parish, kindly visited the lives of parishioners, especially during the recent period of social distancing; at the same time, directly gave each household 200,000 VND, 10 kg of rice and 1 box of instant noodles to share and encourage families to make efforts to overcome this difficult period.
Previously, Father Nguyen Van Hieu - Dean and Parish Priest, Father Doan Van Huy - Deputy Parish Priest of Xa Doai donated 1 million VND to the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund through the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghi Loc district.
It is known that recently, in response to the call for joint efforts to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic of the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, many Catholic parishes and congregations in the province have actively supported and directly donated at the reception points of the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and concentrated quarantine points. In particular, some parishes have proactively launched, called for donations and organized visits and gifts to Catholic and non-Catholic households in the area and surrounding areas that have been heavily affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
The model of "Rice warehouse for hunger relief" implemented by some parishes such as Song Ngoc Parish (Quynh Ngoc commune, Quynh Luu district) has brought practical benefits, especially for poor parishioners, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love, solidarity, sharing and helping each other overcome difficulties./.
