(Baonghean.vn) - At midnight, authorities in Nghe An received 52 citizens returning from Laos through Cau Treo border gate in Ha Tinh to take them to centralized quarantine.

Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command said that at 0:00 on April 25, the unit received 52 citizens returning from Laos to be quarantined at Thai Hoa Town Vocational College. These citizens, including 48 men and 4 women, returned to the country through Cau Treo border gate and were immediately transferred to Nghe An by the authorities of Ha Tinh province.

Thus, after 5 days of being empty, the provincial quarantine area is now welcoming citizens who have started to return when the border gate is opened. Previously, 28 provincial quarantine areas in Nghe An received nearly 7,000 citizens returning from Laos and Thailand. All of these citizens later tested negative for Covid-19. The last person was given a certificate of completion of quarantine on April 20.

Immediately after the last citizen left the quarantine area, the authorities thoroughly disinfected and cleaned up the 20 facilities to hand them over. However, to cope with phase 2 when the border gate reopened, Nghe An retained 8 provincial quarantine areas with a capacity to receive about 2,000 people.

As of the morning of April 25, Nghe An province has 126 people quarantined and monitored to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic. In addition to the 52 people being quarantined at the provincial level, there are 46 people quarantined at home; 11 people quarantined at the district level; 17 people quarantined and treated at the hospital. To date, Nghe An has taken samples from 7,492 people, all results are negative, except for 5 cases that are still waiting.

According to the report of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, nearly 14,000 Nghe An citizens have returned from abroad due to the impact of Covid-19. Not to mention about 7,000 people who returned home earlier to celebrate Tet. However, there are currently more than 90,000 Nghe An workers abroad.

The Civil Aviation Authority has also made a specific plan to welcome citizens returning home in phase 2. Repatriated passengers will be taken to Noi Bai International Airport (or Van Don) in the North and Tan Son Nhat Airport (or Can Tho) in the South, then quarantined according to regulations./.
